savvy navvy draws huge interest at US sailing education event in Savannah

US Sailing invited savvy navvy to exhibit at the leading event for sailing education in the United States - the National Sailing Programs Symposium (NSPS) held in Savannah (GA).

Hundreds of program directors, instructors, and industry representatives came together at the event organised by US Sailing from 1-3 February 2024. The event included Dick Allsopp's World Famous Powerboat Challenge, sponsored by savvy navvy – a race named in honour of Dick Allsopp, the “Godfather” of US Powerboating and involving a series of powerboat handling skills and a lot of laughs.

“It was great to be part of this year’s NSPS, with more than a third of attendees signing up to savvy navvy on the spot, as they were so impressed with what our app has to offer sailors of all skill levels. Many praised our innovation on legacy navigation solutions and our offer of free accounts for qualified boating instructors in a bid to continue to promote water safety to the next generation of boaters across the globe,” says Alex Ostler, Chief Marketing Officer at savvy navvy.

The Dick Allsopp powerboat race added great fun to the NSPS, which also saw inspirational keynote speakers from the boating profession, including Charlie Enright, skipper of Vestas 11th House Racing – the first American team to win The Ocean Race in its 50-year history.

It was great partnering with savvy navvy at the 2024 National Sailing Programs Symposium (NSPS). The Dick Allsopp's Slowest Powerboat Challenge is a hallmark of NSPS, and we couldn’t have asked for a better partner to help us promote the fundamental aspects of the event: safe, sustainable, and informed boating practices.

We are incredibly grateful for their sponsorship, and we’re pleased to hear the valuable connections they made over the symposium weekend,” says Stu Gilfillen, US Sailing’s Director of Education.
